Now that you are over your break-up phase, and can finally get back on Instagram without feeling sick every Sunday when engagement photos make their debut, it’s time to focus on you. I mean think of all the times you have now to give yourself a proper pamper!

Stage 1 : Bye bye bad vibes

It’s time to say so long to you ex’s bad vibes! You have lots to look forward to, because is there anything better than being single in the summer? We think not. Treat yourself to a Face Gym skin workout to aid with stress relief, and get that lymphatic drainage going. With less to spend on someone else, you have more to spend on you and a luxurious facial with Lisa Franklin. If the bad vibes have left your skin in a state, then head over to Pamela Marshall at Mortar & Milk for a results driven treatment plan to get your skin back in tip-top shape!

Stage 2: Hitting the town

Girls nights in or out with your 3 musketeers (just like the three Summer Fridays Masks in our photo), means that you can focus on a pre-makeup regime that highlights your natural beauty. We recommend using an exfoliator that is suited to your skin type the evening before an event. To all beginners out there, we recommend trying the Resurfacing Mask from Tata Harper, which will gently exfoliate your skin without disrupting the barrier function. Day of, a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, and of course SPF protection will help skin be prepared for make-up. Plus, you never know when the opportunity may present itself to get some fresh new photos….you know where we are going with this (hello Hinge?).

Stage 3 : ’Sunday Facials’ are back in business

You can finally do your masks and treatments in peace, without anyone reminding you that maybe it isn’t your best look? Since you are likely hitting the town on Saturdays a bit more, hydration masks and a day to yourself are much needed to get you ready for the week. One of our go to’s is the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask (pictured), which is the best hangover buddy to have on your bathroom shelf. Leave it in your fridge for a guaranteed cooling effect when applied on the skin. Another great product to activate the lymphatic system is “dry brushing” your body. It will exfoliate your skin, getting rid of dead skin cells (it honestly feels like you're removing what happened the night before).

Stage 4: Single Spontaneity

Being single leaves room for spontaneity, you have one person to worry about, and that is yourself. So maybe this means really going for that project at work, or taking a solo trip last minute? One thing that we don’t want to be spontaneous is skincare - make sure that you are practicing a regular skincare regime at all times…to be prepared for anything! If you need help with figuring out what your skin needs, we are here for you!

Stage 5: To the market you go

Dating obviously isn’t a requirement, but getting back out there sometimes is just what the doctor orders. It can be stressful, but don’t panic if an unwanted breakout appears the week of, simply apply ice on your spot for 10 minutes to calm down any inflammation, and have an overnight treatment always on hand to gently “kill” the spot. Our favourite spot treatments are the Sulphur Mask from Dr. Dennis Gross, the Zitsticka patches, as well as the Yonka Cream 15, which are all great to ease inflammation. When the day has come, just embrace your skin as it is, you look beautiful!
